Abstract
A motor controller 10 emits digital command signals ABCD representative of a desired operation (e.g. start, stop, reverse) of a motor 45, which signals are passed to a decoder 20 producing driving signals a-h (preferably binary) for application to a LED indicator 30 displaying the commanded operation and to a control circuit 40 producing the desired motor operation. A logical relationship is maintained among the driving signals so that they simultaneously operate the motor 45 in accordance with the command signals and actuate the indicator 30 to accurately display motor operation. The arrangement reduces components and circuitry and is particularly applicable to the limited space in an automatically focusing camera, typical operations of whose motor are described.
