Abstract
In order to provide a satisfactory bond between moulding material and a tubular metallic body 1, it is arranged that under the moulding pressure by injection moulding either the body itself, as shown, or an elastomeric member (4, Fig. 3, not shown) provided on the body is resiliently deformed to form a gas-tight seal. Hence a seal can be formed without an adhesive connection between the tubular body (1) and the plastics material (2). The member 1 may be a fuel pipe in a vehicle fuel tank.
