Abstract
1,022,371. Transmission gearing for tractors. KLOCKNER – HUMBOLDT – DEUTZ – A.G. Dec. 28, 1962 [Dec. 30, 1961], No. 48957/62. Heading B7H. [Also in Division F2] In a change-speed gear, for a tractor, comprising a driving wheel 9 freely mounted on a driving shaft 6, a plurality of gears 11, 12, 13, 14 carried by a coaxial driven shaft 7 and a countershaft having a set of mating gears 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, a double clutch 8 between the driving wheel 9 and the first driven shaft gear 11 provides two gear ranges forwards or in conjunction with a reversing gear 21, engageable with the gears 9 and 16, provides an equal number of forward and reverse ratios. The gears 11, 12 and 13, 14 may be selectively coupled to the driven shaft 7 by double dog clutches 32, 33 while the double clutch 8 is a friction clutch. The gears 21, 16 are arranged to move towards each other for reverse engagement by axial movement of shiftrods 22, 23 actuated by a lever 25 having a pin 27 engaging slots 29, 28 in the shift rods. A power take-off shaft 5 passing through the driven shaft may be engaged by a main clutch 2. In a second embodiment, the clutch 8 may be replaced by a double dog clutch actuated in conjunction with a friction main clutch 2 and the power-take-off shaft is coaxial with the countershaft, being driven by a separate gear pair from the friction clutch 2.
