Abstract
1,036,869. Bottle assembly. ALLIED CHEMICAL CORPORATION. June 18, 1965 [July 7. 1964], No. 25961/65. Heading B8D. A bottle of breakable material e.g. porcelain, ceramic material or glass, has a protective casing 6, Fig. 1 (not shown), the bottle neck being held in an annular sealing ring flanged externally to fit an opening in the top of the casing 6 and internally to engage the bottle neck below a bead 5 formed on the neck. A metal cap 16 forms a push-fit over a screw cap on the bottle and engages a vertical face of the sealing ring. A lining 8 of corrugated fibreboard lies between the bottle and casing which is of metal e.g. steel or aluminium; alternatively the lining may be of felt, cotton or foam plastics. The sealing ring may be thermoplastic, e.g. polyethylene, p.v.c., polytetrafluorethylene, polychlorotrifluorethylene, polypropylene or rubber.
