Abstract

1,045,862. Locking nuts; anchoring. T. DZUS, F. X. CLARKE and D. H. KANE. April 24, 1964 [July 12, 1963], No. 17109/64. Heading F2H. A lock nut comprises plate-like body 22 having a central, aperture 23 provided with thread portions consisting of helical segments 26 formed integrally with the body and extending round the aperture so as to be engageable with the threads of a stud 12, there being provided spring arms 28 which project from the peripheral edge of the body in a reversely curved bend and terminate in abutment portions 29 adapted to engage the thread 21 of the stud. The abutment portions 29 are bent in a direction away from the body and terminate in helical edges having a pitch corresponding to that of the segments. The nut is attached to a supporting plate 16 by rivets.
