Abstract
1, 064,217. Tape measures. QUENOT ET COMPAGNIE. July 12, 1965 [June 8, 1965], No. 29449/65. Heading G1M. In a tape measure having a casing formed of two shells 3, 4, an outer sheath is provided to fit over the assembled shells. As shown in Fig. 2 the shells are made with a section of diminished cross-section to accommodate the sheath, which is in this example composed of metal and clamped on to the casing. A transparent end plate 16 is screwed on to the casing. In a further example, a plastics sheath incorporating the end plate is fixed to the casing by a tongue and slot connection. Alternatively, as shown in Fig. 6 (not illustrated), the transparent sheath is screwed directly to the casing.
