[Also in Division F4] In a regenerative heat exchanger (see Division F4) a driving tube (5), Fig. 2 (not shown), is mounted on a stator by a combined radial and thrust bearing (6), (7) of P.T.F.E. having an oil feed (21). The stator bearing (7) is mounted on an annular bracket (9) spring-loaded away from a stator ring (10) to centre the bearing with respect to the stator, the spring (9f) may be replaced by a pneumatic or hydraulic ram or elastic material.
