Abstract

1,075,839. Feeding and preheating furnace charges. KLÍCKNER – HUMBOLDTDEUTZ A.G. Nov. 3, 1965 [Nov. 4, 1964], No. 46528/65. Heading F4B. In apparatus for feeding and preheating cement raw materials charged into a rotary kiln of the type in which waste gases from the kiln pass in generally countercurrent direction to the charge material through a series of cyclone separators, the latter are arranged in superposed nested pairs 5, 6 and 10, 11 respectively fed with hot gases by branches 3 and 4 from pipe 2 and branches 8 and 9 from pipe 7. Charge material is fed into branch 8 from hopper 21 by pipe 22 controlled by flap valve 23, and into branch 3 from cyclone 11 by pipe 14 controlled by flap valve 25. Preheated material leaving hopper 6 controlled by flap valve 26 is diverted by valve 18, partly through pipe 16 into the rotary kiln 1, and partly by pipe 17 into pipe 2 for recirculation.
