Abstract
Insoluble sulphur and one or more organic compounds selected from alkylated phenols, natural terpene resins, derivatives of such resins, and phenol sulphides are simultaneously worked into a compounded rubber stock containing an accelerator at a temperature of from 105 DEG to 130 DEG C. By this means the formation of rubber-polysulphide linkages in vulcanization proceeds more efficiently and without the formation of soluble sulphur.
