Abstract
1,149,530. Photographic apparatus. INTERNATIONAL POLAROID CORP. Feb. 8, 1967 [Feb.11, 1966], No. 6088 / 67. Heading G2A. A self processing photographic camera of the kind containing a supply of a photo-sensitive image recording sheet 34 and a coil of an image receiving sheet 36 which sheets are extracted from the camera after passing between pressure applying rollers 38, 40, is provided with means for arresting the sheets when a length corresponding to one exposure has been extracted, and with means for severing such a length from the remainder of the sheets in the camera. The arresting means comprises a disc 50, having two projections 52, mounted co-axially with, but rotatable independently of, the roller 38. As the sheets are extracted, the disc 50 rotates by frictional coupling with the roller 38 until one of a series of marginal openings 64 of the sheet 36 is engaged by a projection 52, which projection then punches a hole in the corresponding position of sheet 34. The disc continues to rotate until the other projection engages the free end section 108 Fig. 3, of a first arresting member 104, which section is deflected against a support member 104, to arrest rotation of the disc. The sheets are then severed on the edge 90 of a cutter bar 88. Depression of a button 102 causes the bar 88 to move inwardly (forwardly) from its operative position, thereby moving the member 104 lengthwise so that a notch 110 thereof is aligned with the projection 52, thus allowing the section 108 to return to its undeformed position. The member 104 returns to its initial position when the sheet severing member is released. To prevent the arresting mechanism being rendered inoperative if the bar 88 is retained by the operator, so that the notch 110 remains aligned with the projections 52, a second arresting member 112 formed of a resilient strip material is provided mounted on the member 104 for limited length-wise relative sliding movement therebetween. Means are also provided to allow of the member 88 returning to its initial position in the event of a projection 52 being engaged within the notch 110 and/or against the side of end section 118 of the member 112.
