1,160,654. Two-part couplings. GRIMWOOD ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS PTY. Ltd. 19 June, 1967 [7 Nov., 1966], No. 28262/67. Heading H2E. [Also in Division H5] Each contact pin 20.1, 21.1, 25.1 of a plug-in hotplate assembly (see Division H5) is gripped between a contact blade 35, 36, 37 and an insulating housing wall 32, 33, 34 of a socket connector 26, the blades and walls being held in spaced relation by bent blade end portions such as 35.2 and by projections such as 39. Lances such as 35.4 snap behind further projections 40 to retain the contact blades. The contact pins 20.1, 21.1 project from terminal ends 20, 21 of the hotplate heating element, the terminal ends 20, 21 being crimped to a metal plate 24 to which the earthing pin 25.1 is welded. The pins 20.1, 21.1 may be of circular cross-section as shown, or (Fig. 8, not shown) may be in the form of flattened loops (41).
