Abstract
1,220,381. Mould release silicone compositions. STAUFFER-WACKER SILICONE CORP. 5 Feb., 1968, No. 6696/68. Heading C3T. [Also in Division B2] A mould release composition comprises (a) 90-98 wt. per cent of a substantially hydroxylfree liquid organopolysiloxane; (b) 2-10 wt. per cent correspondingly, to total 100%, of a polymer obtained by hydrolysis of a mixture of mono- and/or di-alkyl silanes having at least two halogen atoms or alkoxy, aryloxy or amino radicals per silicon atom, to 40-70% of theoretical completion, and (c) 4 wt. per cent of (b) of a metal carboxylate or tetraoctyl titanate. In examples, a mixture of methyltrichlorosilane, dimethyldichlorosilane and propyltrichlorosilane is hydrolysed with a methanol/water mixture in xylene to give a polysiloxane containing some hydroxyl and methoxy groups, which is mixed in xylene solution with tetraoctyl titanate, and optionally CH 2 Cl 2 , and a methyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane or a mixture of two such polydimethylsiloxanes or a methyl-terminated polymethylphenylsiloxane.
