Abstract
1,226,993. Cathode-ray tubes. ISE ELECTRONICS CORP. 19 March, 1968 [27 March, 1967], No. 13344/68. Heading H1D. A thermionic character-indicating tube adapted for viewing from the cathode side comprises an anode in the form of a number of discrete fluorescent coatings 21-31 on respective conductive coatings connected to individual lead-in wires, a character-forming electrode 18 provided with apertures 41-51 corresponding to the lines of the characters to be displayed, a fine wire grid 20, and a filament 35 which operates at a temperature such that its glow is negligible and which is arranged adjacent a transparent portion of the envelope (not shown). The anode coatings may be provided on a ceramic base-plate 3 which also supports the other electrodes; the electrode 18 may be coated with insulating material.
