Abstract
1,232,303. Seats. H. C. FLINT. 27 Aug., 1968 [30 Aug., 1967], No. 40932/68. Headings A4J and A4U. A seat is resiliently supported, in cantilever fashion, from the rear portions 24 of spring wire 18, which may be mounted on slide rails 14, secured to a vehicle floor 10. The portions 24 are held in channels, formed by attaching plates 42 to the inner walls of U-shaped frame 26. Extensions of plates 42 may have holes 44, for pivotally supporting the back-rest 46. Alternatively, border wire 60 is formed as a continuation of wires 18. A seat pan 32 is supported betwen arms 30 and carries a resilient cushion 40. Alternatively, sinuous springs may span the arms 30. Resilient buffers 68 and straps 66 limit the vertical travel of the seat frame.
