Abstract
1,237,007. X-ray image recording apparatus; television. SIEMENS A.G. 16 Dec., 1968 [16 Dec., 1967], No. 59796/68. Headings H4F and H5R. [Also in Division G2] An X-ray apparatus comprises a fluorescent screen, e.g. an image intensifier unit 3, producing an image which is recorded photographically with a cine camera 4 and displayed for inspection by a T.V. system 5, the luminosity of the fluorescent image, i.e. the output of X-ray tube 6, being controlled via units 16 and 22 according to the film feed speed of the cine-camera, and, so the T.V. system does not suffer from such variations in the luminosity of the image, a diaphragm 23 with an adjustable aperture is fitted in the light path of the T.V. camera, which aperture is adapted to be altered, e.g. by unit 24, in response to changes in the camera speed, so as to be increased or decreased in accordance with the luminosity of the fluorescent image. The output of tube 6 is also controlled in response to the output of photomultiplier 15. A particular control system (Fig. 2) shows an iris-diaphragm 23 with operating control 34 attached to a spring- loaded cable 28, passing over an arrangement of pulleys 29-33 between two fixed points 26 and 27, the pulleys 31 to 33 being adjustable by means of electromagnets 35 to 37 so as to vary the effective length of cable between the pulley 30 and the fixed point 27. The electromagnets are energized by various contacts operated by buttons 19, 20 and 21 which are also adapted to control particular film speeds of the cinecamera, the admission of power to the cinecamera motor and the various electromagnets being controlled by two buttons 51 and 54 via contacts 52, 53, 55 and 56. The movement of the cable is restricted by the operations of a spring-loaded brake 39, 40, which holds the cable in a selected position until released by the operation of electromagnet 38. The Figure also illustrates that the pulleys, e.g. 31, could be operated by a mechanical system, e.g. levers 57, 58, 59, and spring-loaded plunger 60.
