Abstract
1,252,495. Antibacterial compositions. STANLEY DRUG PRODUCTS, Inc. 10 Jan., 1969 [11 Jan., 1968], No. 1573/69. Heading A5B. Compositions for prophylactic treatment against bacterial infections, especially of staphylococcal and salmonella infections, comprise a carrier and the peptide homocarnosine (gamma-aminobutyrylhistidine) or a salt thereof. They may be in conventional forms for oral and parenteral administration. The invention further comprises the treatment of bacterial infections in non-human animals by the administration thereto of a composition or active compound according to the invention.
