Abstract
1,259,118. Container closures. REFLEX CORP. OF CANADA Ltd. 20 Dec., 1968 [22 March, 1968], No. 60633/68. Heading B8T. An integral, moulded plastics bottle etc. cap 10 has a base 11 with a peripheral flange 12 with at least two lugs 13 at the lower end of its inner surface for locking in notches 22 on a container, and a resilient flexible web 15 of annular crosssection. The web 15 may have a section of smaller cross-sectional area between its ends. An annular rib 18 prevents overflexing of the web. The web 15 may be cylindrical, engaging a ledge (30) or (34) inside the container neck Figs. 3, 4, 5 (not shown); or frusto-conical; and may widen toward the cap Fig. 2 (not shown). To remove the cap it must be pushed down on to the container against the tension of the web 15 to permit the rotation of the lugs 13, clear of the notches, over the cam surface 23. Rotation in the opposite sense is prevented by the projection 21 defining the notch.
