Abstract
1286391 Insulating pole ST BERNARD PLASTICS Ltd 19 April 1971 [16 April 1970] 18328/70 Heading B4K [Also in Division H2] An insulating pole is attached directly or via a tool holder to a tool used for manoeuvring live high voltage overhead lines out of engagement with insulators. The pole or another similar assembly can then be clamped to the pylon to provide a temporary support for the live cable well away from the insulator or adjacent apparatus requiring attention. The pole comprises interfitting pot members 3 around which a sheath 2 is bonded. Synthetic resinous material, preferably of the epoxy or polyester type, may be used throughout and may be strengthened by using glass fibre. The outer sheath can be bonded to the pot members by curing the synthetic resinous material under the influence of heat.
