Abstract
1292221 Lighting fittings; ventilating buildings NORSK VIFTEFABRIK AS 12 Feb 1970 [12 Feb 1969] 6917/70 Headings F4R and F4V [Also in Division E1] A suspended ceiling incorporating provision for lighting and air conditioning comprises a plurality of inverted channels 101 fitted with cover plates 112 and having support means, such as flanges 117 to support lighting fittings including lamps 104 on support panels 106, and such as flanges 118 to support transparent or translucent panels 108 or sound absorbing panels 107, the panels 106, 107, 108 and the channel walls defining cavities having a bottom boundary. Air flow passages such as holes 113 in the channel walls and such as gaps 109 between panels 107, 108 forming the bottom boundary are provided for the flow of air from the room 129 over the lamps 104. The holes 113 can be fully or partially closed by means of a slide plate 130. The panels may have rows of slits or perforations adjacent the transverse edges, as an alternative to the provision of gaps 109.
