Abstract
1292750 Press frames L SCHULER GmbH 16 Nov 1970 [19 Nov 1969] 54428/70 Headings B3H and B3Q [Also in Division B5] A press framework comprises a head member 1, a base member 4 and a rectangular frame at each: end of the members each composed of a pair of hollow pillars 11, 12 and a pair of transverse members 13, 17 joined to the pillars by tie rods 21, 22. The head and base members are secured to the respective transverse member by further tie rods 25, 26 the press ram runs in guides 28. The pillars 11, 12 are held correctly spaced at the guides by a transverse member 30. Several frames (7)-(10), Fig. 1 (not shown), can be used with a set of head and base members 1-(6). The intermediate frames (8), (9) are wider than the end frames 7, (10) so that they can support a pair of head and base members. The press may be for pressing car bodies, tank parts or girders. The height and depth of the framework can be readily changed by using different length pillars, tie bars and transverse members.
