Abstract
1300552 Tilting cabs G K N SANKEY Ltd 6 March 1970 [11 March 1969] 12775/69 Heading B7B [Also in Division E2] In a vehicle having a tilting cab, means are provided to prevent the or each cab door, when in an open position, from further opening movement, the means being rendered inoperative when the cab is in the normal position. The means comprise a toothed quadrant 25, fixed to a door hinge strap 21 and movable about an axis 20, and a pawl 27 urged into engagement with the quadrant by a spring 36 acting through an arm 32 and a rod 29. In the normal position of the cab the pawl is held out of engagement by a bolt 40. The quadrant teeth are inclined to prevent further opening, but to allow closing of the door. In further arrangements, the teeth are formed in the bottom edge either of the arcuate portion 24 of the hinge strap 21 or of a check strap, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), the pawl 27 being biased vertically upwards.
