1300675 Imidazopyridine ELI LILLY & CO 19 April 1971 [20 April 1970] 9842/71 Heading C2C 26 – Bis – trifluoromethyl – 1H – imidazo – (4, 5-b)-pyridine is prepared by reaction of 5-trifluoromethyl-2,3-pyridine diamine with trifluoroacetic acid to give 5-trifluoromethyl-3-trifluoroacetylamino – 2 – amino – pyridine, followed by cyclization. The imidazopyridine is a herbicide.
