Abstract
1301250 Cereal product NABISCO INC 24 June 1971 [13 July 1970] 29657/71 Headings A2B and A2Q Cereal grains are cooked until they are in a condition to become self-adherent under pressure, the cooked grains are flattened or flaked to form flat flakes, which are continuously advanced to a compressing station where they are continuously compressed to form self-supporting shapes, and baking the shapes. An apparatus for effecting the invention comprises means for cooking the grains, flaking means for flattening the cooked grains, first and second opposed belts having operative runs facing each other, said runs forming an entrance and a discharge opening and converging from the entrance to the discharge, to form a compressing passage for the grains, the operative runs moving in the same direction and at the same speed, whereby the grains are continuously compressed into a self sustaining sheet, and means for baking said sheet.
