1307086 Rotary conveyers BECKMAN INSTRUMENTS Inc 31 March 1970 [8 April 1969] 15067/70 Heading B8A [Also in Division B1] As fraction collector comprises vacuum-tight cylindrical housing 166 having a transparent cover 275 and enclosing rotatable tube rack 279, tube rack 279 being attached by shaft 283 to gear 281 which co-operates with arm 282 driven by motor 163 to enable stepping of the tube rack. Shaft 283 is rotatably enclosed by ball-bearings 287, 288 in housing 284. Housing 284 is sealably mounted in the bottom wall of main housing 166 and an O-ring 289 in an annular groove on the outer surface of rotatable shaft 283 provides a vacuum-tight seal. between theshaft and housing 284. Tubular liquid inlet device 285 is movable linearly by motor 290 to enable the dispensing of liquid into the inner and outer rows of tubes 276.
