Abstract
1311165 Enamelling iron USS ENGS & CONSULTANTS Inc 13 July 1970 [11 July 1969] 33918/70 Heading C7A and C7D A charge is air melted and refined to a composition consisting of C 0À05 – 0À1 Mn 0À04 – 0À12 S – 0À04 Si – 0À1 Fe balance, apart from oxygen and other impurities, which is then vacuum deoxidized without addition of deoxidizers to reduce the oxygen and carbon contents to less than 0À03% and 0À04% respectively. After casting the iron is hot rolled in a number of steps followed by cold rolling with 50% reduction to produce a sheet which may be recrystallized by subcritical annealing.
