Abstract
1332632 Reciprocating pumps FICHTEL & SACHS AG 13 Jan 1972 [21 Jan 1971] 1742/72 Heading F1A A radial piston pump includes a housing 16 and cover 15 defining a chamber 25 in which an eccentric 2 associated with a drive shaft 1 rotates. Fluid from inlet 24 passes into chamber 25 and is drawn along the grooves 6 of radial pistons 4 into the associated cylinders, whenever those grooves 6 communicate with chamber 25 as the pistons move radially inwardly on rotation of eccentric 2 within its associated ring 3. Subsequent radial outward movement of the pistons discharges the fluid from the cylinders through passages 8 past a common non return valve 7 to outlet 9. Semi-circular spring steel wire clips 12 hooked through bores 11 in the pistons inter-connect opposed pistons so that any piston moving on its radially inward section stroke is maintained urged against the ring 3 by the movement of the opposite piston on its radially outward discharge stroke. Lubricating bores 19-22 extend through the shaft 1 and eccentric 2 from the chamber 25.
