Abstract
1340841 Air heating stoves; linear burners MITSUBISHI DENKI KK 11 Feb 1972 [13 Feb 1971 24 March 1971] 6621/72 Headings F4S F4V and F4T In a gas fired air heater 1 comprising a housing 2 containing a downwardly directed burner 3 located in the upper region of a combustion chamber 11, combustion gases leaving the combustion chamber pass downwardly through the interior of a heat exchanger 15 and into an exchaust duct 19 from whence they are discharged via a pipe 24 to outside the space to be heated. Air to be heated, supplied by a blower 27 and entering the bottom of the heater through an inlet 28 and fitter 29, is constrained to flow upwardly over the outside surface of the exhaust duct 19, heat exchanger 15 and combustion chamber 11 by means of giude plates 25, 26 before entering the space to be heated through an outlet 30. The burner 3 is supplied with fuel via a pipe 4 and air from a blower 5 via an inlet pipe 6. Air enters the burner, which is provided with a number of flame holes 7, through openings 8, 9 and 10. Flame hole configurations are disclosed (see Fig. 5, not shown) for preventing ‘lifting’ and ‘back firing’. In the alternative burner construction shown in Figs. 6a and 6b, fuel gas is supplied through an inlet pipe 41 and air through a pipe 42, the resulting fuel-air mixture being fed to a duct 43 from which a plurality of spaced apart ducts 44 extend outwardly through the outer wall 40 of the burner; secondary air for combustion is supplied through openings 45.
