Abstract
1353780 L-Lysine; L-isoleucine KANEGAFUCHI KAGAKU KOGYO KK 2 July 1971 [28 Dec 1970] 31128/71 Heading C2C L-Lysine and L-isoleusine are produced by cultivating Arthrobacter alkanicus ATCC 21657 under aerobic conditions in an aqueous nutrient medium containing assimilable carbon and nitrogen sources, inorganic materials and other necessary nutrients or additives, and recovering the accumulated L-lysine and L-isoleusine by removing the cells and passing the culture liquor through an acidic cation exchange resin to adsorb the aminoacids thereon. The latter may be separated by elution with dilute aqueous ammonia, removal of the ammonia, and passage through a weakly acidic cation exchange resin to adsorb L-lysine; concentrating the eluate and adding alcohol to precipitate L-isoleucine. The L-lysine is eluted from the resin with dilute aqueous ammonia and the pH adjusted to 2 to precipitate L-lysine hydrochloride.
