Abstract
1358113 Active filters INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 24 April 1972 [13 May 1971] 18861/72 Heading H3U A narrow band filter comprises: a broad band filter receiving an input signal sampled at a first rate; and means for sampling the output signal at a lower rate, 1/nth of the first sampling rate, and recirculating it through the filter to produce an effective bandwidth which is 1/n of that of the broadband filter. Input signals X sampled at a rate F are applied to a digital filter comprising delays T1, T2, a readout memory ROM and an accumulator ACCU. The output signal Y is delayed at D to avoid interference with the input X and fed to AND gate G 1 where it is sampled at a rate F/2. i.e., is divided by two. The resulting sampled signal is fed to delays T3, T4 which are arranged to recirculate alternate samples, thus giving a delay of 2T for each unit.
