Abstract
1368541 Hydraulic boosters for brake systems BENDIX CORP 26 Jan 1973 [10 Feb 1972] 4215/73 Heading F2F An hydraulic braking system comprises a pump 22, providing fluid pressure for a powersteering system, a booster 10 having an inlet port 20 connected to the pump outlet, an outlet 24, a pressure chamber 48 and a first valve 56 controlling communication between the inlet and outlet ports and the pressure chamber to effect powered actuation, an accumulator 38 connected to the booster and a charging valve 30 which permits flow from the pump through the hydraulic system while diverting a portion of the flow to the accumulator to maintain a predetermined pressure therein, the booster including a second valve formed by parts 100, 102 permitting fluid communication from the accumulator into the pressure chamber when a powered actuation is initiated and a malfunction prevents fluid flow into the chamber from the inlet port. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 1,307,040 and 1,288,351.
