1375158 Aerial scanning photography HAWKER SIDDELEY DYNAMICS Ltd 17 Nov 1970 [19 Nov 1969] 46391/69 Heading G2A In an airborne infrared scarring device for deriving a photographic record of the earth’s surface an optical adjustment is effected to correct distortion introduced by the increase of scarred zone with increase of scarring angle. The adjustment in trade by a continuously bared aperture and by a cylindrical lens having a magnification factor proportional to see 2# like # is the scan angle. The glass tubes 21 is modulated in correspondence with the I.R. signal received from ground and light from the tubes passes through the optical fibres, 22, at lenses 26, 36 to the recording film 27. The correcting cylindrical lens is mounted between the mirrors 28 and the variable aperture is formed by the shutter blades, 34, driven by the cams 35.
