Abstract
1377421 Air-cushion vehicles ETAT FRANCAIS MINISTER FOR NATIONAL DEFENCE 12 Jan 1972 [31 March 1971] 1527/72 Heading B7K An air-cushion vehicle has a first central cushion portion fed by a gas jet injected at its periphery, and a second cushion portion surrounding said first portion, the second portion being constituted by a plurality of juxtaposed cells having flexible walls 1, 2 inclined downwardly inwardly and arranged to be fed at least partly by leakage gas from the first portion. Flexible lamellµ 3 serve to recirculate gas contained in the central cushion. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 6 (not shown), each cell is open at its upper zone and receives an adjustable direct gas feed which is supplementary to the leakage-gas feed from the central cushion.
