Abstract
1380970 Polyester-styrene resin compositions SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO Ltd 7 March 1972 [8 March 1971] 10571/72 Headings C3P C3G and C3R A moulding composition comprises 1-95% by weight of a styrene resin, which is styreneacrylonitrile copolymer, a graft copolymer of styrene and optionally acrylonitrile and/or methyl methacrylate on to a rubbery polymer or a composition of a styrene homo- or copolymer with a rubbery polymer, and 99-5% of a polyarylene ester derived from an optionally alkyl- or halogen-substituted arylene dicarboxylic acid and a diphenyl (selected from a broad class which is defined in detail in the Specification). The exemplified styrene resins are acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer and graft polymers of styrene and optionally acrylonitrile or methyl methacrylate on to polybutadiene. The exemplified polyesters have repeating units of the formulae or wherein x is 20 mol per cent and y is 80 mol per cent.
