1381633 Power assisted steering systems ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG 17 May 1972 [26 May 1971] 23129/72 Heading B7H The casing 1 of a worm and nut power assisted steering gear is provided with a closure plug 13 and a steering shaft connection seal 14 whose positions are interchangeable to allow the casing to accommodate a worm 2 whose steering shaft connection 15 projects through the casing lid 12 or a worm (16) whose connection (17) (Fig. 2, not shown), projects through the cylinder bottom 7. This allows a particular casing to be used with the two worms to achieve two installation positions (Fig. 3, not shown); casings having different geometry in respect of the rocker shaft housing may be provided.
