Abstract
1383997 Collapsible vehicles; fuel containers P GREPPI 25 Jan 1972 [25 Jan 1971 24 Dec 1971] 3546/72 Headings B7B and B7H In a car formed in two parts 1, 2 which are relatively angularly movable about a common roof hinge 3, one part may be housed partially within the other to reduce the overall length for parking, garaging or transportion (Fig. 3, not shown). The vehicle floor is formed by two members 11, 12 respectively pivoted to the vehicle body at 13 and 11 and pivotally interconnected at 15. A locking pawl 16 is provided to retain the members 11, 12, and an hydraulic, or electric screw jack 17 is connected between the members 11, 12. On releasing pawl 16 and actuating jack 17 the members 11, 12 pivot upwardly and the rear part 2 is partially housed in front part 1. Two wheels 20, one of which may be driven, and a free wheel, respectively carried by members 11 and 12, contact the road surface when the vehicle is collapsed to allow movement thereof. The floor members 11, 12 may form fuel tanks or luggage storage spaces.
