Abstract

1389696 Injection moulding GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 20 June 1972 [2 Aug 1971] 28826/72 Heading B5A [Also in Divison H2] A coating 61 of conductive elastomer is applied to mandrels 10, 11 and to an electrical contact 7, and a connector housing of insulating elastomer is formed by injecting plastic material through a nozzle 13 into a two-part mould 9, the mandrels 10, 11 producing a passageway through the housing. The coating 61 becomes bonded to the housing and after the mandrels 10, 11 have been withdrawn it forms an electrostatic shield (6, Fig. 1, not shown) around part of the passageway.
