Abstract
1395744 Oil filler caps AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS Ltd 24 April 1973 [22 May 1972] 24031/72 Heading B8T A plug for an oil refill hole in the rocker cover of a motor vehicle engine has a filter element 39 which carries an oleophobic substance, e.g. the radially inner surface 41 may be coated with the substance. The outer surface 43 may be coated with an adsorbent which may be activated carbon. Venting of gas takes place through an aperture 35 of a snap-in disc 33 and a passage 13 in an element 3 of the plug, a spigot 29 acting as a baffle to collect oil from the gas in drops which drain back through the aperture 35. The filter element 39 may be of air-laid non-woven material.
