Abstract
1433115 Track laying vehicle sprockets CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 7 Oct 1974 [20 March 1974] 43320/74 Heading B7H A drive sprocket for a track laying vehicle has spring means 30 of rubber mounted within a radial bore of the sprocket teeth with a plunger 32 for transmitting impact forces to the spring means and a sealing assembly 35 mounted between the plunger and the bore for protectively sealing the spring means 30. As seen in Fig. 2 the sealing assembly 35 includes an elastomeric bushing 36 having sleeves 38, 39 which are press fitted about the plunger 32 and within the sleeve member 41 received within counterbore 27. A bolt 44 is threadably received in plunger 32 and a rigid washer 48 interposed between the bolt head and plunger forms a guard to prevent the sealing assembly 35 from impact damage by road particles. A bolt 45 mounted on the track chain 14 contacts the bolt 45 and the impact energy is transmitted to the spring means 30 with consequent noise reduction.
