Abstract
1442783 Anchor nuts K LEITNER 26 Nov 1973 [1 Dec 1972] 54721/73 Heading F2H A screw-threaded fastening member, e.g. a nut, to be mounted by press-fitting in a bore in a structural part, comprises a substantially cylindrical or prismatic body 1 having radially extending projections 2 spaced axially from one end at which are conical sectors 3 which alternate with the projections 2 circumferentially without overlapping. When the crown 5 formed by the sectors 3 is pressed into the bore and the nut turned the sectors become anchored in the wall of the bore. In a modified embodiment the conical sectors 3 have undersurfaces 11 (Fig. 6, not shown) helically inclined with the opposite-hand to that of the screw-thread of the nut.
