Abstract
1476824 Pie cutting and serving utensil DART INDUSTRIES Inc 16 June 1975 [5 Aug 1974] 25628/75 Headings A4A and A4C A utensil for cutting and serving pastry products from round pie dishes comprises a blade 12 having bevelled knife edges 28 and a recess 34 on the upper surface extending adjacent the knife edges and a handle 14 extending rearwardly of the blade and joined thereto by an upwardly angled integral connector 16, the edges of the connector and a portion of the handle being bevelled 46, 42, whereby in use, the bevelled portions of the blade, connector and handle ensure complete separation of the pie from the bottom, side wall and lip portions respectively of a pie dish and the recess 34 prevents adhesion of the pie to the upper surface of the blade. The knife edge 28 of the blade is preferably serrated and the handle and connector concave to form a channel for liquids. The utensil is preferably moulded from plastics material.
