1476985 Vehicle hydraulic systems PARKER HANNIFIN CORP 6 Aug 1974 [10 Sept 1973] 34574/74 Heading B7H The hydraulic system of a fork-lift truck comprises a priority control valve for dividing the flow from a variable-displacement pump 10 between a priority hydraulic circuit including a power steering control valve 5 and an auxiliary hydraulic circuit 8 including lift and tilt control valves, the priority control valve comprising a spring-biased valve spool 18 movable in a bore 11 intersected by an inlet passage 9 connected to the pump 10, by a priority circuit supply passage 3, and by an auxiliary circuit supply passage 7, the spool 18 having a land 21 acting to restrict flow from the inlet passage 9 to the priority circuit supply passage 3 when the spool is moved in one axial direction and to restrict flow to the auxiliary circuit supply passage 7 when the spool is moved in the opposite axial direction, the spool having its ends respectively exposed to pressures in passages 15, 12 communicating with respective positions upstream and downstream of a variable-area orifice of the steering control valve 5, the passage 12 communicating with a controller of the pump 10 by way of a check valve 17.
