1479423 Microtome adjustment LKBPRODUKTER AB 9 April 1976 [10 April 1975] 14703/76 Heading G2J In adjusting the knife-specimen distance in a microtome, a source of light irradiates a prismshaped knife 2 and the light passing into, and reflected from, surface 2C is reflected back by a mirror 5 on to the specimen 6 as shown. Observation by microscope 3 gives a direct image of the knife and a reflected image from the specimen with a dark area between. This dark area is used to estimate separation of the knife and the specimen.
