Abstract

1481608 Spot-type disc brakes NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 24 Dec 1974 [28 Dec 1973] 55686/74 Heading F2E In a vehicle disc brake assembly comprising a disc 10 and a stationary hydraulic cylinder 12 with a first piston 14 for applying a pad 24 directly to one face of the disc 10 and a second piston 16, slidable in the opposite direction, for applying a second pad 28 to the opposite face of the disc through a yoke 32, the yoke 32 is guided by a pair of guide rods 50 mounted on the stationary cylinder each having a cylindrical collar 48 secured thereto and passing through an aperture in a support member 42 secured to the yoke and characterized by the provision of an elastomeric bushing 46 interposed between the collar and the aperture and which is slidable on the collar with a lower resistance in the direction A for applying the brake than in the opposite direction B. The bushing 46 may have internal annular ridges of sawtooth section (Fig. 3) or may have conical end surfaces 54, 56 (Fig. 4).
