Abstract
1482138 Bearings CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 16 Aug 1974 36230/74 Heading F2A A bearing assembly arranged between first and second members 12, and 13, 14, 25, respectively for relative rotation thereof, comprises a cylindrical bearing sleeve 17 rigidly supported by, and coaxial with, a bearing support 19; seals 24 mounted upon the bearing support 19 at the extreme ends of the bearing sleeve 17; retaining means 21 formed by the bearing support 19 and serving to locate axially the bearing sleeve 17 and the seals 24; and a pair of thrust bearings 31, 32, each disposed between the second members 13, 14, 25 on the one hand and the first member 12 and the bearing support 19 on the other hand. The sleeve 17 may be of non-metallic selflubricating material, e.g. woven P.T.F.E. fibres. The seals 24 may be a pair of rubber or plastics rings.
