Abstract
1501235 Impulse transmitters TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON 24 March 1975 [29 March 1974] 12275/75 Heading H4K In an impulse generator including a storage block M for converting digits entered at a keyboard K into corresponding pulse trains which are transmitted over a telephone line L A , L B the operating voltage and clock pulses for block M are provided by a D.C. converter L which includes an oscillator O. The converter L is powered from the line under closed loop conditions and from a storage capacitor C during loop breaks. Its output voltage is greater than the line voltage. Voltage regulation for the converter L is provided either by a series transistor T2 or by a parallel transistor pair T3 according to the output (pulsed or quiescent) from block M. In a first modification, Fig. 3 (not shown) the parallel regulation is dispensed with. The arrangement of Fig. 1 requires a four-core cable (attached to points L A , L B , E A , E B ) for connection to the circuitry of a conventional substation. However, in a further modification, Fig. 4 (not shown) only three-core cable is required.
