Abstract
1517636 Two-part couplings SIEMENS AG 20 Aug 1976 [22 Aug 1975] 34743/76 Heading H2E A socket assembly comprises an electrically insulating body member 1 having a recess 2 for receiving a plug member 3 or a plug-in body 4, and an electrically conductive resilient spring member 6 mounted in member 1 with a contact portion 12 normally retracted from the path of plug member 3 and a bight portion 11 normally in the path, engagement between the bight portion 11 and the end of the plug member causing pivoting of the spring member about a projection 10 to bring contact portion 12 into contact with member 3, Fig. 2, not shown. As shown, a metallic contact surface 5 is provided on one face of member 3 but a surface 5 may be provided on both faces and a further spring member provided on the other side of the recess, Figs. 3, 4, not shown. The projection 10 may take the form of a flat, inclined surface, Fig. 5, not shown.
