Abstract
1522817 Magnetic storage arrangements INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 31 Oct 1975 [31 Dec 1974] 45263/75 Heading H3B A magnetic bubble domain BD, Fig. 2A, is moved by a pulsating in-plane magnetic field Hx along a path defined either by a permalloy or NiFe magnetic overlay 13 on the bubble supporting layer 10, or by an ion implantation pattern in the layer, the field imparting a forward extension and rearward contraction movement to the bubble. Thus leftward movement 14 is produced by a + Hx field acting in the direction shown, the field reducing the external bubble field 16 on one side of the bubble and augmenting the external field on the opposite side. Continuity of movement is produced by using a sawtooth pulsating field, Figs. 2B and 2C, having different rise and fall times, the positive and negative waveforms shown imparting leftward 14 and rightward 14
