1525777 Acid resistant mortar PITTSBURGH CORNING CORP 17 May 1976 20318/76 Heading C3N An acid resistant mortar composition, for bonding shaped cellular glass blocks, consists of 26-60% by weight of a finely divided glass powder having a particle size such that 99% passes a U.S. Standard 325 Screen, 23-61% by weight of an inert aggregate filler having a relatively coarse particle size, defined as a particle size such that at least 99% passes a U.S. Standard 20 Screen whilst 1% or less passes a U.S. Standard 250 Screen, and 13-45% of a silica sol. binder. The finely divided glass powder may be finely ground cellular glass, e.g. borosilicate powder, container glass powder or glass cutlet powder. The filler may be silica sand, coarsely ground cellular glass, fused silica or beta-spodumene.
