1528214 Selective signalling DE STAAT DER NEDERLANDEN TE DEZEN VERTEGENWOORDIGD DOOR DE DIRECTEURGENERAAL DER POSTERIJEN TELEGRAFIE EN TELEFONIE 12 Dec 1975 [12 Dec 1974] 51021/75 Heading G4H In a radio teleprinter system, a calling station repeatedly transmits two blocks of characters, one character in each block representing the block number with the sequence of the remaining characters in the two blocks identifying a called station, the called station recognizes the identifying character sequence and sends the same sequence back, each character in response to receipt of one of a series of blocks, and the calling station compares this returned sequence with the sequence of identifying characters transmitted and in response to equality initiates transmission of message signals. The calling station has a generator for the identifying character sequence, with an output for each character, and the characters received from the called station are passed via a shift register (which serializes each in turn) to a set of comparators connected to the outputs of the generator respectively and enabled in turn by a counter driven by clock signals from the receiver circuitry. The comparator outputs are counted, the message signals being sent in response to all the comparators giving «equal» outputs.
