Abstract

1528998 Electrical connections PRESSAC Ltd 3 June 1977 [18 June 1976] 25341/76 Heading H2E [Also in Division B3] An electrical connection is established between an electrically insulated conductive strip 5 and an electrical contact 12 in a socket member 11 by a crimpable strip 4 of flexible resilient electrically conductive material which pieces the strips at two spaced positions 6. The ends are then folded over to pierce the insulation to effect a second electrical connection between the positions 6. The resultant crimped joint 13 is inserted into socket member 11, an air channel 15 being formed between the contact 12 and the crimped strip to cool the connecting points 141. As described, the crimpable strip has teeth (8) (Fig. 3a, not shown) along opposite edges to facilitate piercing, and transverse serrations (9) to give multipoint contact at the positions 6.
